In this fully animated documentary, director Ari Folman (2007 Lynn and Jules Kroll Fund for Jewish Documentary Film grantee) probes the depths of personal memory in an attempt to decipher what happened during the 1982 massacre on the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps. Interviewing friends who served with him, Folman's memories of the conflict gradually begin to emerge - often in unexpected ways.
"A powerhouse film." Manohla Dargis, The New York Times
Foundation for Jewish Culture named one of the nation's 50 most innovative Jewish non-profits in Slingshot 08/09, an annual resource guide to Jewish innovation published by 21/64.
